Ali Muftu, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Ali Muftu is a prosthodontist and Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he serves as Program Director of Predoctoral Prosthodontics and teaches at both the predoctoral and postgraduate levels. He joined Gloucester Dental in 2023 and is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, American Dental Society, and Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Muftu began his dental training in Turkey, where he earned his dental degree and completed specialty training in prosthodontics. After moving to the United States, he continued his education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, earning his D.M.D., completing a U.S.-accredited advanced education program in prosthodontics and fellowships in implant dentistry and craniomandibular disorders, and earning a Master of Science degree.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Muftu has taught thousands of dental students and postgraduate residents and has lectured and directed continuing education courses in implant and restorative dentistry.
As a practicing prosthodontist, Dr. Muftu is dedicated to improving his patients’ oral health and quality of life. Combining extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment planning with advanced clinical skills, he develops individualized treatment plans for patients with needs ranging from straightforward to complex. His clinical focus includes replacing missing teeth, restoring damaged or worn dentitions, and improving function and esthetics using dental implants, traditional and digital technologies, and fixed or removable prostheses.
